The following resources have been helpful to me as I learn to navigate motherhood, so I thought I'd list them here in case they could be of use to anyone else.

Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn: The Complete Edition by Penny Simkin, April Bolding, Ann Keppler and Janelle Durham.

- This book helped me stay one step ahead while I was pregnant, and Penny Simkin's attitude about childbirth really resonated with me.

Baby Bargains by Denise and Allen Fields

-- I don't buy anything for Nora without consulting this book first, and its recommendations have yet to lead me astray.

The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp (Book and DVD)

-- These strategies helped us survive the first three months with a colicky baby and establish good sleep habits.

Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth

-- This book taught me a lot about baby sleep needs, and for us, allowing some crying has helped Nora develop sleep skills and keeps our whole family stay relatively well-rested.

Breastfeeding Made Simple: Seven Natural Laws for Nursing Mothers by Kathleen A. Kendall-Tackett and Nancy Mohrbacher

-- I read this while pregnant and am absolutely convinced that it helped me and Nora develop a good nursing relationship from the very beginning.
